JAC in Hilo

If you are planning to spend a significant amount of time at the JAC Hilo offices, please make sure you are familiar with the relevant safety information from Chapter 2 of the Safety Manual.

For short term visits:

  • make sure you register with the receptionist
  • your contact person will inform you about procedures in the event of fire
  • make yourself familiar with the evacuation map
  • your contact person will inform you about the emergency assembly area (grassy area outside the main entrance)
  • you can call Police, Ambulance, and Fire by dialing 8-911

FIRE:

If you hear the fire alarm, evacuate the building and convene outside. Follow JAC staff to the emergency assembly area. If you find a fire:

  • Raise the alarm and start evacuation
  • Contact 911 (at the summit this can be left until later)
  • Do not fight the fire
  • Do not re-enter the building unless the okay is given by a JAC staff member.
If your visit results in the possibility of working late or on weekends, your contact information will inform you of our special late working procedures. Please note that this page is password protected and only accessible to JAC staff.
